Nancy Mullins was raised working in her family business alongside her parents, siblings and grandfather, laying the groundwork of a strong work ethic & service to the community. Raised in Linden, she moved to Woodbridge when she was 13. A proud Woodbridge High School graduate, Nancy has always been an active part of this community; coaching pop warner, being class mom, working at a local food pantry. Born & raised to help others, a girl scout in the early years, Nancy now lives with those inspirations in daily life, willing to step up unconditionally.
Professionally, Nancy works as Title Insurance producer/ account executive & business development for East Coast Title Agency in East Brunswick for over 22 years, Promoting her team, who is dedicated to serving NJ Real estate professionals and transactions, and holding themselves to the highest level professional & ethical standards. A core value is to be trusted & looked upon by her clients as a go-to person, going out of her way & always willing to help others. This is normal in the course of a day of Nancy’s life.
A military spouse, Mom, Nana, sister & friend Nancy has become an advocate to many & so proud of this award for helping our community especially Veterans in need. A member of the Joyce Kilmer American Legion post 25 , Woodbridge Elks & Middlesex County Veteran Advisory board, always helping our Veterans & their families in need. This is the real quest and bringing awareness to this issue is a top priority. Everything from getting a homeless veteran into shelter, bringing food to them, home heating oil, car repairs etc. The list is endless & thanks to monies raised by our American Legion Emergency Fund & others in our community organizations that step up to help when they learn about these Veterans it’s proof that the world is filled with so many kind people. On any given day calls come in for another who needs help & we will always answer the call. It’s important to Nancy that people know they are not alone and those who want to help know that together we can make a difference. We work with our county as well as the Veteran community groups that know we are here to help without judgement when there’s a veteran in need of emergency assistance.
In 2008 Nancy’s husband Jeff was preparing to deploy to Iraq and Nancy kicked into gear as Family Readiness Group Vice President. It was a tough time for many military spouses & their families; many days of sharing incite on how deployments & active duty service can change the dynamics of life as you know it. Working in this group to help others & now making connections in the military community became a great beginning to some of the work happening in this community today.
Columbia School of Journalism followed Nancy through this year in their life, creating a series, “Life during deployment”. When a family goes through this it’s a life changing experience. It provides more incite to today’s community service.
All of these were laying groundwork to non-profit work now for Rebuilding Warriors, a 501c3 providing service dogs to Honorably discharged Veterans & 1st responders with PTSD, traumatic Brain injuries & amputations. Nancy is fundraising chair and is a board member as well as Marketing director and her husband, Jeff is the VP of operations for this 100% volunteer organization. This month will mark over 150 Veterans receiving their service dogs from the fundraising efforts.
