The Pines Manor has been a fixture of the Edison community for more than 130 years, and today stands as one of the largest banquet facilities in New Jersey outside of Atlantic City. For Joe Amore, Director of Operations for the past 22 years, what makes the venue special isn’t its size or its history. It’s the community built inside it. For generations, families, businesses, and nonprofit organizations have trusted Pines Manor to host many of life’s most important moments, often returning decade after decade.
Whether hosting an intimate gathering or a celebration for more than a thousand guests, every week brings something different. Corporate meetings and fundraisers fill the calendar during the week, while weekends bring sweet sixteens, quinceañeras, weddings, and a full range of celebrations. A dedicated sales team works with every client to plan a walkthrough and build out the day from scratch. Amore says the venue continues to invest in technology and tools that make the event planning process easier and more efficient for clients.
Pines Manor offers a wide variety of menus while also customizing events to fit each client’s vision, family traditions, culture, organization, and budget. “Whatever our clients envision, we work hard to make it happen,” said Amore. “We don’t believe every event should fit into the same package. Every client deserves an event that reflects their family, culture, organization, and budget.”
As Edison has grown more diverse, Pines Manor has grown right along with it, adapting its kitchen and its offerings to meet the community’s needs. In the last ten years, the venue has begun welcoming licensed outside caterers for South Asian and African weddings and opening its doors to them.
“The community has changed so much, and we’ve had to adapt to multicultural events,” he added. “We’ve learned along the way, and now we cook South Asian and Latin food ourselves. Our culinary team has continued to evolve over the years to accommodate everyone who walks through our doors.”
For Amore, the real reward isn’t in the logistics of running events. It’s in watching relationships grow over time.
“Our ultimate goal has always been to build lasting relationships,” he said. “We watch families grow — a sweet sixteen turns into a graduation party, then an engagement. Many of the families we serve today are second- and even third-generation clients.
At the end of the day, people have choices. We never take that for granted. Every event, whether it’s 50 people or 1,500, deserves the same attention to detail and level of service. That’s the standard we’ve tried to uphold every day.”
That same commitment extends to Pines Manor’s employees. Many members of the team have been with the venue for decades and treat every event as if it were their own family’s celebration. That experience and dedication, Amore says, are a big part of what keeps clients coming back.
That care shows up in the details too, from open bar and cash bar service to buffets and plated meals built around each client’s needs, whether it’s a corporate luncheon, a repast, or a milestone celebration.
Location has played a role in the venue’s growth as well. Sitting centrally in Edison, Pines Manor is within a 10-minute drive of every major highway in the area. Edison itself has grown considerably in recent years, drawing major companies and development along the Route 1 corridor.
“One of our greatest advantages is our central location. Whether guests are coming from North Jersey, Central Jersey, or the Shore, we’re easy to reach,” Amore said. Edison has experienced tremendous growth over the past several years, something Amore says has benefited both the township and businesses throughout the region.
“Giving back to the community that has supported us for generations has always been important to us. Whether it’s hosting charitable events, supporting local organizations, or working with community partners, we believe our responsibility extends beyond the events we host.”
He also points to his involvement with the Middlesex County Regional Chamber of Commerce as a key part of that growth, both through hosting events and attending networking functions.
“Being involved with the Chamber is something I recommend to everyone,” he said. “The Chamber has helped us build meaningful business relationships that have turned into long-term partnerships and friendships.”
After more than 130 years in business, Pines Manor continues to prove that while traditions may evolve, genuine hospitality, lasting relationships, and a commitment to the community never go out of style.
