Middlesex College is turning 60! Since its founding in 1964, the College has been a cornerstone of the Middlesex County community, providing a pathway to educational success for countless students.
“For six decades, Middlesex College has served as a center for educational excellence and personal development for students of all ages and backgrounds,” said Middlesex College President Mark McCormick. “As we celebrate this landmark anniversary, Middlesex College is at a critical juncture in our history with a significant investment of resources that will position the College to continue to build on our proud tradition of offering quality, affordable education and lean even more into our mission of serving our community.”
To commemorate this milestone, the College has planned a year-long celebration filled with exciting events and activities. The annual HarvestFest offered a day of fun for the whole family, with hayrides, music, food, and family-friendly activities in October. The Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will honor outstanding athletes and coaches who have made significant contributions to the College’s athletic programs on April 5, 2025. Casino Night will be a fundraising event held in May 2025 to support student scholarships and other initiatives. And Celebration Day will recognize the exceptional contributions of Middlesex College employees in May 2025.
In addition to these celebrations, Middlesex College is embarking on an ambitious project, the ongoing Community, Innovation, and Opportunity (CIO) Strategic Investment Plan, a partnership between Middlesex College, Middlesex County, Middlesex County Magnet Schools, Middlesex County Improvement Authority, and the State of New Jersey, which aims to make the College a regional destination. This transformative project aims to enhance the College’s campus facilities, expand its academic programs, and strengthen its partnerships with the community. Key elements of the CIO Plan include state-of-the-art academic buildings, a new student center, and a multi-purpose community venue. The initiative also focuses on expanding academic programs in high-demand fields like healthcare, technology, and business, as well as fostering collaborations with local businesses, organizations, and government agencies.
As Middlesex College enters its seventh decade, it remains committed to its mission of providing accessible, high-quality education that empowers students to achieve their goals. The College’s dedication to academic excellence, student success, and community engagement has made it a vital institution in Middlesex County and beyond.
