The Girl Scouts of Central & Southern New Jersey (GSCSNJ) is offering one-of-a-kind programming for children, families and Girl Scouts across the state thanks to its brand-new DreamLab.
The DreamLab, located at The Shoppes of North Brunswick, 650 Shoppes Blvd., features a hands-on STEM center, Girl Scout boutique, bouldering wall and an outdoor skills area with a faux fire pit and tent to practice camping skills. A membership is not required to access the facility.
“DreamLab is a contemporary and transformative space for Girl Scouts to network and work on badges. It also provides an opportunity for the general public to participate in activities,” said GSCSNJ CEO Ginny Hill. “The possibilities are endless at the DreamLab, allowing us to have a larger presence to show the public who Girl Scouts really are beyond the cookie.”
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Sept. 13 at the 3,500-square-foot facility, marking it as the first-ever Girl Scout program-based experience center on the East Coast and just the third in the country.
Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) is a valued partner of GSCSNJ in the development of subject matter expertise in their STEM badge programming. Their dedication to this initiative was showcased during the ribbon-cutting event with an interactive project in the STEM lab.
This new DreamLab is only the beginning of a new way to experience Girl Scouting, according to Hill. The vision is to have additional locations across the state. Girl Scouts of the USA partnered with industry leader Newmark Group Inc. to develop the DreamLab concept.
“No one helps girls achieve their full potential like Girl Scouts,” Hill said. “The DreamLab allows us to reach girls of all backgrounds, ages, and cultures to fulfill our mission for everyone. I believe that it will energize the community. Come check us out!”
