President - Chris Phelan

In his role, Chris is responsible for managing the MCRCC's operations with the purpose of meeting the organization's goals. Specifically, he represents the Chamber in the business community, acts as a liaison between civic and governmental agencies, and oversees the development of an advertising campaign. In addition, Chris implements plans and programs approved by the Board of Directors, as well as assists in securing sponsorship for publications and functions.

Vice President - Christine Thompson

Christine supports Chris in the day-to-day operations of the Chamber with a primary focus on events, the Convention & Visitors Bureau, and the newly-formed New Brunswick Business Council.

Most recently, Christine was Assistant Vice President of Sales and Member Development at Financial Resources Federal Credit Union in Bridgewater. In her role, she worked with various member companies to grow credit union membership, coached branch representatives in the areas of sales and branding, and served on the branding team, driving the company brand throughout the business. Recent assignments also include Business Development Officer at Affinity Federal Credit Union and Customer Relationship Manager at the Human Resource Development Institute, the State of New Jersey’s training organization.

Office Manager - Debbie Miller

Debbie manages the day-to-day operations of the Chamber. She motivates the staff to exert the effort necessary to attain organizational goals. Debbie works closely with all the Chamber committees. She also serves as Secretary to the Board of Directors.

Director of Membership Development - Ed Cenkner

Ed is the Director of Membership Development responsible for developing new relationships within the business community. Ed brings a unique perspective to his job as a former business owner and former member of the chamber. He understands the many benefits derived through membership in the Chamber of Commerce. Ed has a BS in Business Management from Saint Peter’s College in Jersey City.

Associate Director of Events - Alex Hollywood

Alex Hollywood is the Associate Director of Events. Alex graduated with a BA in Liberal Studies from Wesley College located in Dover, Delaware. Her concentrations were communications, media arts and political science. During her four years Alex became very active with her sorority, the Inner Greek Council and the community service fraternity along with other college activities. Alex enjoyed planning all the events for her college and set out to be an event planner. Her first job was with the New jersey Business & Industry Associations with the events department. She found this to be a good fit with her experience and education.

Administrative Assistant - Rita Lawrence

Rita Lawrence joined the Middlesex County Regional Chamber of Commerce as a part-time administrative assistant in March 2007. Her extensive background in sales and management enables her to understand and implement the organization's goals and direction while satisfying and sorting out many of the details so often overlooked.
