The Legislative Affairs Committee works hard on behalf of the membership to monitor developing issues and serve as an influential voice to political organizations. On your behalf, our team efforts helped to make New Jersey State Senate Bill 848 a reality. The new law now provides tax relief to small business owners in New Jersey by eliminating the corporate business tax on the regular income of S-corporations. MCRCC also took a stand so that exempt non-profit community associations, like those made up of mostly senior citizens, would be exempt from sales and use tax on services such as trash collection, for which a municipality is required to reimburse an association under the municipal services law.
